The Counselor's Corner

After the first week of school, students are feeling a little more comfortable about the expectations for this school year.  Some students stated that they had "butterflies" in their stomach the first day - but the warm reception from their teacher and classmates has made those butterflies flutter away.

Character Education Word:  School Pride means to be proud of your school and to represent it well.  Examples of school pride would be wearing school colors, attending and participating in special school activities that it holds, representing your school in a spelling bee, poster, or essay contest, and showing school spirit.
 
Spotlight on a Career:  The school bus driver transports students to and from school, checks the vehicles tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil and water, and completes reports at the end of the day.  A school bus driver is a part-time employee.

Welcome to PCES Guidance and Counseling Program

The Counselor's Corner

Welcome to Phenix City Elementary School.  I am excited about working with your child this school year.  Students at Phenix City Elementary School will have 30 minutes of classroom guidance each week.  Classroom Guidance will consist of the character education word of the week for Phenix City Schools, spotlight on a career, and a guidance lesson that addresses the academic, career, and social/personal development of each child.   Please check this blog weekly to keep abreast of what your child is learning.
